Dear Kind Bar,
I have been watching you for awhile now. It has been several years since we were first introduced and it has been so difficult to not share my true feelings with you. I have spoken to several other people about my deep affection for you, but I have not talked to you specifically about my feelings.
I love you and I do not care who knows it.
There, I said it. Now that it is out there, there is no need for the awkwardness that comes after a deep, meaningful conversation. In the interest of full disclosure, I went through that phase where I was trying other bars, and I hope I didn’t hurt you by doing so. The bottom line is that I came back to you. I always have come back to you. With your pronounceable ingredients and incredible flavor lineup, I am done playing around. I am fully committed to you, from this point forward.

Heart palpitating. Beads of sweat forming on your forehead. The bottom of your stomach dropping even lower than what seems physically possible. The saliva vanishing from your mouth.
Sound familiar? Of course it does. Everyone has had their own experiences with being nervous. My most recent was as a result of “performing” stand up comedy this past week.
Laff’s Comedy Club in Tucson, like quite a few other comedy clubs across the county, has an open mic night where anyone willing to make the lonely walk to the stage containing a solitary microphone stand is welcomed.

As I mentioned in a blog post a month back or so, I am always interested in what a relationship can get me. I like surrounding myself, in real life AND online, with people who enrich my life in one way or another. Oh Facebook, you wily devil, you are everywhere. You’ve made it into just about every commercial I see on television. You’re in the fine print at the bottom of every movie poster, billboard, and flyer. I get it, you want me to find a particular thing on Facebook, “like” it, and then tell others to do the same. I “get” how it works, I really do. I just like to delve a bit deeper and try to linger on certain events at times.

I’m a huge fan of animated GIF pictures and I get a kick out of humorous blog posts that reference them, like the following three;
In honor of my upcoming weekend in Vegas with some good friends, I’ve made my own.

Absolutely hilarious. If you haven’t already seen this particular post, check it out.
I’m penning this note to address a couple of items that your father and I have been discussing the past couple of days in preparation for this weekend’s family reunion.

So earlier this month I signed up for a membership on MeetUp.com to see about maybe connecting with other writers in the area. Tonight was the first meeting I attended and I really enjoyed the hour I spent with these folks. We turned a twenty-minute writing exercise into about forty-five minutes of writing and ended up banging out some pretty good stuff. I had to leave early so unsure how much everybody else got done, but I rambled on about two different subjects (which I’ll “transpose” below from my handwritten stuff).
